Happened to me too - no emails from GMR at all (playing a 2nd match next to this one)
prolly a problem on their side 
I put GMR in my Autostart just to be safe.
Missed my turn cos I didn’t get the e-mail. I’ll do the auto start but no guarantee that I’ll always catch it. Grrrrrr. I blame Moby for this.
This is really frustrating as having now read through this forum I see that the turn time is now right down too.
Sooooo, I get a settler, put him right where I want him then because of the reduced turn time and lack of info about it being my turn the settler does nothing for 3 turns and someone takes it.
Interesting and disappointing of course. C’est la vie and I’ll have to keep reading here now.

looks like email notification is back up - i just got an email notification for my turn.
That’s unfortunate Tom. Chances are the Barbarians have taken your settlers and you’ll find them in the nearest barbarian camp. If you can capture the camp you’ll get them back. You’ll need 2 x axeman and 1 x archer at least to win.
Now lets own up, did anyone else take it? If not and you liberate a settler belonging to Germany, can you return it please?
The e-mail notification is back up. Don’t forget there are two other ways to see if it is your turn:
1, Add the GMR launcher to your PC startup apps. It will load when you boot up and pop up a message when your turn comes round
2, Check the website www.http://multiplayerrobot.com/Game (must be logged in). I have this saved on my phone so I can check it (allthough didn’t stop me missing one recently)

So is that away week this week? If so, I am sure, he will get close to those 5 missed turns.
I took the undefended settler - if it would have been Flashhearts settler I would consider to return it, but Tom is an active player and as such I dont see the need for it.
Use/Read the forums to announce holidays so the game can be adjusted to your needs.

if you are planning to miss turns, turn on vacation mode. if you dont want to let the AI make your turns, write the Game Operator to stop the game or increase the turn timer for the period you are offline. If you dont do anything, maybe it is better to get kicked.
i mean, there are three(!!) tools to check, if its your turn… and two of them are passive…
i was looking for the option to turn on vacation mode.
where is that configable?
